Glasgow February Clinic
Once again, we held our monthly clinic at Simon Community Hub and welcomed back patients old and new! Our volunteer vet this month was Paul Eynon, who also is a clinical skills leader at the University of Glasgow. So a big thank you to Paul for giving up his Wednesday afternoon to help take care of our very cute patients. First in we had Bella- a gorgeous staffie, who had her annual booster and a few dog treats for being such a good girl. We also had newbie Lexi who had a general check-up and some preventative treatments for fleas and ticks. We also gave her some medicine for her itchy ears. She enjoyed playing with the toys at the clinic and even took one with her.
Princess the pug also dropped into the clinic to get her skin checked out. After a thorough clinical exam she left with some steroids and shampoo to relieve the itchiness. She also posed for many photos and picked up a lovely new harness and lead to end her visit.
Some of our returning clients included Bro who is a regular at our clinic and Caesar who we welcomed back after a few years. Bro was given some treatment to help his itchy ears and was also treated to a new lead to match his winter jacket.
Jinty was the last patient of the day, who presented with several issues- all of which are being managed or will be reassessed next month.
Our next clinic will be the 4th March.
We recently held a bake sale at Queen Margaret Union at the end of January to raise much needed funds, which allow us to provide vaccines, medicines and helps us cover any further veterinary treatment if required. We baked plenty of delicious buns and cakes and managed to raise around £100! A massive thank you to those who donated their time by baking or donated money on the day.
