The Trustees

Ruby Shorrock

Trustee, Founder, PR manager and Treasurer

Hi, my name is Ruby and I am the Founder of The Trusty Paws Clinic. Setting up this project has been an amazing experience and I am absolutely loving it! The enthusiasm of my fellow students and the public was incredible - without their support I’d never have got this idea off the ground. The founding committee have been fantastic and I was so happy that these three lovely girls chose to stay on as Trustees! We continue to work together, enhancing and expanding our organisation. It has been so rewarding to work with the amazing clients and patients that come to our clinics.

Like the other Trustees, I am now in my Final Year of Vet School. I want to be a small animal vet but also work with British Wildlife and carry on as much charity work as I can. My hobbies include knitting and cooking but hanging out with my dogs is the best!

Thank you for visiting The Trusty Paws Clinic Website!

Gemma Graham

Trustee, Fundraising manager and Outreach officer

Hello everyone, my name is Gemma and I’m delighted to introduce myself as one of the four trustees for The Trusty Paws Clinic. Alongside Lucy and Ruby, I have been a part of The Trusty Paws Clinic from day one. It has been a fantastic experience acting as one half of the original Outreach team. With a strong lead by Ruby, the Trusty Paws name has grown and spread. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories, I am forever humbled by the relationships between those we help and their animals.

In my spare time, I love to travel and draw, or just drink copious amounts of tea with my flatmates! My connection with animals started at a very young age when my grandma exposed me to all creatures great and small, and they’ve been a huge part of my life since then.

On behalf of all of us, I’d like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone that has helped so far – your generosity has been overwhelming and I wish I could put into words the joy you have brought to so many people, by helping their furry best friends.

Lucy McLeod

Trustee and Outreach manager

Hello! My name’s Lucy and I’m from Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland. I began my Trusty Paws adventure as one of two Outreach Officers on the founding committee of The Trusty Paws Clinic. Not wanting to leave a job unfinished, it seemed like the obvious choice to continue as a Trustee once that time had come to an end. Being involved with a project like this from the very beginning has changed my view of homelessness and the people that fall victim to it. The trust and adoration that we see between these people and their animals is no different to what is seen in vet clinics every day, so I believe there is no reason they shouldn’t have access to the same level of care and treatment for their pets. Ruby has been a force to be reckoned with in establishing Trusty Paws, and I feel honoured to be part of this fantastic organisation. Having spent time volunteering in various parts of the world, charity work is an area that has always been important to me. Trusty Paws was an ideal way to combine this interest with furthering my clinical experience. As well as voluntary work I spend my spare time playing rugby, going to church and looking after my three chinchillas - Maggie, Bea and Pearl!

Amanda Budge

Trustee, Stock manager and Secretary

Hi, I am Amanda and I was initially the secretary for The Trusty Paws Clinic, I was so excited to become a Trustee. I live with Ruby and loved the idea so have been involved in The Trusty Paws Clinic from early on. I believer a clinic like this is so important as the dogs and their owners often don't get the help they require, especially in Glasgow where there are no hostels that will take them. I am a bit of a strange mix: half Australian, half Scottish but born and live in Hong Kong!
